Mobile experience
Concept studyProject 2
Good habits start with small steps.
A mobile-first concept that makes showing up for yourself feel a little easier.

THE IDEA
Project overview
This habit-tracking concept explores a gentler way to build consistency. Rather than presenting a wall of statistics, it starts with a small set of habits and a simple daily check-in.
The problem
Habit apps can make a missed day feel like a failure. The challenge is to communicate progress without turning a helpful routine into another source of pressure.
The proposed approach
The proposed mobile experience pairs a weekly date strip with a compact progress summary and a short list of today's habits. Large tap targets and straightforward labels keep the interaction quick and predictable.
What the experience could do
Technical direction
A proposed architecture for taking the concept into development.
React Native + Expo
The proposed app shares interface code across mobile platforms while preserving native navigation and accessible touch targets.
Firebase
Habit definitions and dated check-ins could be stored per user, with security rules preventing access to another person's records.
Offline considerations
A future implementation should retain check-ins without a connection, then reconcile them carefully when connectivity returns.
Decisions that matter
- Treat a missed day as information, not a punishment.
- Pair visual progress with readable text for screen readers.
- Define what counts as a day before implementing time-zone-sensitive check-ins.
Where it goes next
The current work is a visual concept. A working app would need habit creation, persistent check-ins, time-zone handling, and device testing before making any claims about improving consistency.
